Siam and Micah presented their Invention Convention projects to the class. Congratulations to Siam for winning first place in second grade and to Micah for winning second place in second grade!
We learned about heat by melting Hershey kisses using four sources of heat. Each group used a different source - flashlight, bathroom dryer, hair dryer, and heat lamp.
Emma made the Kwanzaa card, Solana made the Season's Greetings card, and Joslyn made the Hanukkah card. Our class sold them to raise money to help Carlson families at Christmas.
For science we built bridges out of craft sticks and tape. Each group had to work as a team to build a bridge that would hold a paper cup and be tall enough for a paper cup to go under.
Every year we have Math-o-ween. The kids make up a math game and dress up in a math costume and come play math games. It is a great way to show math is fun.
